Gemini 4 Carbon is the new #1 on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index v5

Google has released its latest frontier model with reported “significant gains” in coding, agentic tasks—work involving AI carrying out multiple steps—and cybersecurity.

The overall ranking is one signal. For coding agents specifically, Carbon ranks second on the Artificial Analysis Coding Agent Index, behind Claude Opus 5.5. Leading the broader index does not mean leading every category.

On cybersecurity, Google reports specific evaluation results: 88.2% on SEC-bench Pro for finding vulnerabilities, 54.8% on ExploitGym for exploitation, and 71.0% on CWE-bench for patching. These are vendor-reported results, rather than proof of effectiveness in a particular production environment.

Treat those results as a starting point for testing against your team’s security tasks. Before integrating Carbon into production workflows, verify access through Google’s developer channels: it is currently available only to a select group of cybersecurity defense companies, with wider partner access planned through Google’s Fairwind Program.
